This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the standards that apply when you use The Legal Lexi platform (The Legal Lexi) or interact with it (and any content available through it) in any way.
The Legal Lexi is a platform that is used by the legal services provider you have chosen to use, to support with certain aspects of the engagement process to allow you to become a client of that business. - Who we are and how to contact us
The Legal Lexi is operated by The Legal Lexi Limited (we, us or our). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 13928925 and have our registered office at 30 Macclesfield Road, Wilmslow, England, SK9 2AF.

By using The Legal Lexi, you confirm that you accept the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy and that you agree to comply with it. If you do not agree to this Acceptable Use Policy, you must not use The Legal Lexi. - By using The Legal Lexi you acknowledge that we may contact you
By using The Legal Lexi, you acknowledge that we act as a data controller in respect of your name and contact details, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we may contact you about The Legal Lexi, for feedback, for marketing and promotional purposes, and about any other products and services we may provide from time to time. - By using The Legal Lexi you acknowledge that your data may be used and processed by artificial intelligence tools
By using The Legal Lexi, you acknowledge and accept that we may collect and use the data you provide through our apps and products, including personal data, to provide analysis and reporting services and to train, develop, maintain and improve artificial intelligence systems to improve functionality, performance and safety of our apps and products, as set out in our Privacy Policy. - We may make changes to the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy
We amend this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Every time you wish to use The Legal Lexi, please check this Acceptable Use Policy to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time. - Requirements for using The Legal Lexi
We grant you a right to use The Legal Lexi in accordance with its functionality, and for the purposes of supporting you through certain aspects of the engagement process with the legal services provider you have chosen to use.
You must use The Legal Lexi only for the purpose for which it is intended.
You are responsible for ensuring that any information or data you provide to The Legal Lexi is accurate and up-to-date.
You must keep any access credentials that we allocate to you or that you choose (such as a username and password) secret, and not share them with any third party. Any use made of The Legal Lexi using your credentials will be considered to have been made by you.
All intellectual property rights in and to The Legal Lexi belong to us or our licensors. The right to use and access The Legal Lexi is licensed to you for a limited purpose and period of time, and not sold. - Prohibited uses
a) You may not use The Legal Lexi:
• In any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
• In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
• For the purpose of harming or attempting to harm minors in any way.
• To bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person.
• To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
• To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
• To upload terrorist content.
b) You also agree:
i) Not to reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of The Legal Lexi.
ii) Not to access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt:
• any part of The Legal Lexi;
• any equipment or network on which The Legal Lexi is stored or hosted;
• any software used in the provision of The Legal Lexi; or
• any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party. - Breach of this policy
When we consider that a breach of this Acceptable Use Policy has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.
Failure to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:
a) Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to use The Legal Lexi.
b) Issue of a warning to you.
c) Further legal action against you.
d) Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.
We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of this Acceptable Use Policy. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate. - Our responsibility
If we don’t comply with this Acceptable Use Policy, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us not complying, or our failing to use reasonable care and skill; however, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time you accepted this Acceptance Use Policy, both we and you knew it might happen.
We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.
The Legal Lexi is for your domestic and private use. If you use The Legal Lexi for any commercial, business or resale purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
You acknowledge that The Legal Lexi has not been developed to meet your individual requirements, and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of The Legal Lexi meet your requirements. - Which country’s laws apply to any disputes?
Please note that the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy, its subject matter and its formation are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
